HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It doesn’t seem possible that another year has already passed!  Make plans now to attend our annual membership meeting.  The 2011 meeting will be on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 6:00 pm.  The meeting will be held at Garwooley’s Restaurant, located in Davenport, OK on Route 66.

The Oklahoma Boer Goat Association is extending an invitation to all boer goat breeders.  Please come and visit with us on the 22nd of January and meet all the great people involved with the OBGA.  The association will pick up the tab for all OBGA members.

Looking back on 2010 we are thankful for another great year.  We had two successful shows at our Spring and Fall Classics in Ada and a great show at the Tulsa State Fair.  In addition to our OBGA shows, we were pleased to support the youth in our industry through our work with the OYMGA and by sponsoring the Oklahoma district livestock shows. 

I want to personally thank everyone who has supported me this year as I tried to fill Dottie’s shoes.  Her loss is still felt throughout our organization.  I couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help!

We will have some Director positions open this year so any adult members who would like to serve in that capacity should compose a short resume and bring it to the annual meeting.  If you have any questions, please call me at 918 772 0970, or email at sgreathouse@lrec.org.  All paid members will vote on these positions in our general meeting.

OBGA memberships are due for renewal at the beginning of each calendar year.  You can renew or start your membership at the meeting or you can mail your information and payment to me at 1945 Moffett Lane, Ft. Gibson, OK  74434.  Yearly membership dues are $30.00. 

We look forward to seeing everyone on January 22^nd.
